After a successful maiden edition in March this year, organisers of the 3Music Awards have hinted that plans are far advanced for next year’s event.

With the huge success chalked at the maiden edition at the Fantasy Dome at the Trade Fair Centre, which accommodates in excess of 20,000 people, 3Music says it is looking at leveraging on that feat to hold a bigger event next year.

Oragnisers are promising off the roof performances this year with the lineup of acts already in the works.

3Music has hinted that the 2019 edition of the awards will be launched in November and indicates that next year’s event will be “bigger and better”.

The first edition was held on March 24 and it saw late dancehall musician, Priscilla Opoku-Kwarteng, popularly known as Ebony Reigns, grab her first posthumous award.

Ebony, who was laid to rest same day at the Osu Cemetery, was awarded the ‘Female Act of the Year’ after beating Becca, Joyce Blessing, Adina, MzVee and Sista Afia.

On the night, controversial dancehall artiste, Shatta Wale was adjudged ‘Male Act of the Year’ while his smash hit single ‘Ayoo’ received the ‘Song of the Year’.

Patapaa’s smash hit single ‘Once Corner’ won ‘Viral Song of the Year’ at the event.

3Music awarded songs released between the periods of October 2016 to September 2017.

One of the talked about points from the maiden edition was the performances on the night.

The night witnessed spectacular performances from Shatta Wale, Stonebwoy, Obibini, Teephlow, Joyce Blessing, Joe Mettle, Sista Afia, Gallaxy, Kumi Guitar, Kurl Songx, Ex-Doe, Chicago, and a host of others.
