Cabic Promotions Fights Drug Abuse Through CRS Stakeholders Durbar

Ghana’s premium authentic Boxing registered management entity, Cabic Promotions and Management has duly and in a proper manner hosted an outstanding CSR stakeholder’s durbar, aimed at eradicating Drug abuse practices among students and to impact the youth of Ghana in general.

The stakeholder’s durbar as anchored by Cabic Promotions & Management functioned under the theme “Setting a National CSR Agenda to Fight Drug Abuse and Related Vices“.

Cabic’s CSR durbar had very renowned and high size dignitaries attending with full support, counting from his Hon. Minister of education, Martin Opoku Prempeh, Professor Kwasi Opoku-Amanka the Director General of the Ghana Education Service, President of the Ghana Boxing Authority, Mr George Lamptey, head of the Ghana Boxing Federation and the traditional leaders of the Ga Traditional Council.

Schools invited were – Accra Academy, St Mary’s senior high, Accra girl’s senior high, Odorgonno senior high, Nungua senior high, Wesley Grammar, ATTC, and Kaneshie tech high among others other elite senior high schools.

Addressing the attendees and dignitaries, the CEO of Cabic promotions and management, Mr Ivan Bruce Cudjoe warmly welcomed all protocols observed at the event and shined the light on Cabic as a an organization that has stage as incredible two major big international fight night in Ghana and has so far won three WBO Africa and Asia Pacific title belts for the republic of Ghana.

“In Cabic’s work so far, the company have observed the youth across the country is actively engaged in severe drug abuse substances like tramadol, cannabis, wee or marijuana and sniffing of glue among other harmful drugs which has become of great concern to CABIC promotion and management” – He stated in his address.

Mr. Ivan Bruce urged all and sundry to join force in the fight against this growing social canker through boxing for the benefit of mother Ghana and its forward stride to greatness.

According to statistics from the NACOB – Narcotic Control Board, about fifty thousand (50,000) people in Ghana, particularly the young are in drug abuse with the use of marijuana and cocaine by the youth in junior and senior high schools and the tertiary level are on the ascendency. The survey also suggests that out of the total number of 50,000 drug users in Ghana, 35,000 were students from Junior/Senior high schools and tertiary institutions aged between 12 and 35years while the remaining 15,000 were adults with 9,000 being males and 6,000 females. It has been argued that much like in the United States, drug awareness programs and luxury drug rehab centers will be needed to combat the growing crisis.

Cabic Promotions and Management and Travel Matters Ltd is leading the way through a CSR Initiative dubbed, CABIC DRUG ABUSE AWARENESS CAMPAIGN which will be rolled out in the form of an AMATURE BOXING TOUR that is designed to take the campaign to communities across the country with education and demonstrations on the effects of drug abuse and its related vices for the youth in these selected communities. These community activation platforms shall be telecast on traditional media with media reportage across various mediums as well as streamed live on social media as we are doing today for the benefit of thousands of youth across the country.

Cabic Promotions and Management will also use its upcoming CABIC BIG FIGHT NIGHT II, the Xmas Edition, on 24th December 2018 to engage the champions and the challengers to help push the agenda of Stopping Drug Abuse in all its forms.

CABIC BIG FIGHT NIGHT II will be held at the Bukom Boxing Arena, in Accra.

The CSR Stakehlder’s Drug Abuse Awareness campaign continues its tasks of eradications the uses of harmful drugs amidst at the forecourt of OMAN FM – Madina on November 30th .
