Gospel singer Kwaku Gyasi, has tipped his colleague, Diana Hamilton, to win Gospel Artiste of the Year at this year’s Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA).

Kwaku Gyasi said this in an interview with Graphic Showbiz after his performance at the VGMA Nominees Jam which came off at the Kumasi City Mall in Kumasi, Ashanti Region.

“I am rooting for Diana Hamilton to win the Gospel Artiste of the Year. She has worked hard and deserves it.”

Nominees for the Gospel Artiste of the Year are Diana Hamilton, Joyce Blessing, Joe Mettle, KODA, Obaapa Christy and Akesse Brempong.

Diana Hamilton, who is also a nurse and is based in the UK is also vying for Gospel Song of the Year with her song Mo Ne Yo, Female Vocalist of the Year with the track Lord of Host and Album of Year with I Believe.

The Gospel Artiste of the Year category is one of the tough categories at the VGMA this year because all the nominees did great in the year under review.

Away from the VGMA, Kwaku Gyasi also explained why he had been missing from the music scene for so long.

“I was out of town, in Canada, working on things but now I am back to continue what I left and I’m grateful to God.

“I have great and beautiful things coming out, the work of God should continue and that is exactly what we will do,” he told Showbiz.

Kwaku Gyasi has released albums like Sumsum Kronkron Gya, Onokwafo Ayeyi and Onyame Aseda.
