Hiplife star turned Evangelist, Lord Kenya has in an exclusive interview explained why he still performs some of his hiplife songs at Gospel crusades.

Despite asking radio presenters and DJs across the world to desist from playing some of his songs, Evangelist Lord Kenya would at a point during his crusades perform some of the same songs.

Why?

Responding to a question as to why he still finds the need to perform some of his old songs at Gospel crusades, Lord Kenya who was often referred to as the rap heavyweight champion revealed the actions were at the direction of the Holy spirit.

“There is a story behind me performing some of the songs at crusades. Anytime I’ve performed them, I’ve done it to tell my story. I often do that to introduce myself to a relatively younger audience or a group of people who do not really know my journey, he said.

Last year, a number of videos popped up online with the Evangelist singing some of his old songs in a church. This led to widespread conversation as to whether the man of God had backslided like Ofori Amponsah did.

Lord Kenya was speaking in a highly rated interview on RYSENSHYNE on Y102.5FM.

The Sika Ba hit maker born Lord Abraham Philip Akpor Kojo Kenya was ‘arrested’ by the Holy Spirit in 2008 and has ever since turned his back on hiplife.

He is currently the head pastor of the Face of Grace Covenant Temple where he shepherds over 300 members.
