American champion Floyd Mayweather has defeated Manny Pacquiao in their ‘Fight of the Century’ bout at the MGM Grand Garden in Las Vegas.

Floyd got the unanimous decision against the Filipino superstar.

Judge Dave Moretti had it 10 rounds to two, or 118-110 for Mayweather. Judges Glenn Feldman and Burt Clements each saw it 116-112, giving Mayweather eight of the 12 rounds.

Mayweather (48-0, 26 KO) was simply the better fighter, controlling the majority of the fight with his jab, with his movement and his defense. Pacquiao (57-6-2, 38 KO) had a terrible time landing anything clean on Mayweather, scoring with just 81 punches according to CompuBox. Mayweather landed 148 punches, by comparison.

“He’s a tough competitor,” Mayweather said after the bout.

“He’s a hell of a fighter, and I take my hat off to Manny Pacquiao,” Mayweather said. “Now I see why he’s one of the guys at the pinnacle of the sport of boxing.”

When asked if the fight was easier than he expected, Mayweather simply called Pacquiao a tough competitor, and said he knew Manny would “win some rounds.”

Manny Pacquiao commented “It was a good fight. I got him many times. I saw the punches. I thought I won the fight. He is moving around, it is not easy to throw a lot of punches. I can handle his power. He is not strong like some others.

He’s not bigger than me, the size doesn’t matter, I have fought bigger guys.”
Floyd Mayweather speaking, to a solid chorus of boos said: “First off, I want to thank God. I want to think all the fans around the world. This was a hell of a fight. I take my hat off to Manny Pacquiao, now I see why he is one of the guys at the pinacle of boxing. I am truly blessed.

Manny Pacquaio is truly blessed. I am a calculating fighter. He is a tough competitor. I had to take my time with him. My last fight is in September.”
