Newly elected Welfare officer of the Ghana Actors Guild, Kalsoume Sinari has assured film makers particularly the aged who are no more active in movies of a good pension fund package after retirement.

According to the popular actress, this has become necessary for the newly elected executive to address since these veteran actors and actresses go through hard times when they are no more acting.

“We’ve planned to establish a pension scheme for veteran actors to help address their welfare needs after they retire from active acting,” she said.

Speaking on Kasapa Entertainment with sit-in host, Akwasi Nsiah on Kasapa 102.5Fm, the former model said the welfare scheme of the guild will be revived with help from corporate organisation, individuals and government.

“My position as welfare, wouldn’t be for only actors in Accra but it cuts across all actors in Ghana,” she added.

When asked about how she can use her position and as an experienced actress to also address movie roles for sex in the industry, she said, “the advise I can give to my colleague ladies is to be strong and turn down sex for roles from film makers. Aside that the constitution of  the Ghana Actors Guild frowns on such acts used by movie makers as bait to lure those vulnerable ladies.”

Kalsoume Sinare in 1989 participated in the Miss Ghana contest, represented Ghana in the Miss World contest in Taiwan and won Miss Model of Africa.
