GHANA MUSIC IS BEING CONTROLLED BY DJS NOT MUSICIANS _NANA QUAME

Outstanding Ghanaian Highlife music star, Nana Quame has undisputable stated that music made in Ghana are been controlled by DJs and the the originators of the songs.
The unchallengeable male vocalist in an interview with DJ Premiere on Accra FM Entertainment Capital over the weekends said there are quality and better musicians in the country who do not get much play because DJS are controlling the music.
“Ghana music is been controlled by DJs. Let’s not hide behind hypocrisy but face the fact. There are wonderful and better musicians out there who are not gaining publicity. I keep saying this but sometimes people get me wrong for something else. We have a problem and people don’t want to voice out. When some musicians given bigger platforms like what you have given me, they don’t voice out their problems and they rather complain behind doors and cry. One of the biggest problems is that all the radio stations in Ghana play Nigerian songs meanwhile when you go to Nigeria, they don’t play Ghanaian songs that much. When we meet ourselves in the studios, people complain a lot. They fear to voice out publicly because their music will not be played. We need the support of the DJS because going to the studio to do the music is about 10 percent and the rest lies on the DJS and the fans out there. So if the DJS do not play your music, how are your fans going to here your music.”
Nana Quame is one of the longest serving contemporary Highlife musicians. His pieces of songs can hardly fade out from your memories.
Some of his popular hits include Asew Konofoo, Atea Adonko, Ashoke Me. He recently released ‘No Parking’ and like his previous ones, it is  gaining much publicity.
