The official opening of one new Lesbian, Gay, Bi-Sexual, Transgender, Queer and Intersex (LGBTQI) resource centre in Ghana capital Accra has created controversies from last week in the country.

Ghanaian musician, Rootikal Swagger has added his voice and thrown his support for Lesbian, Gay, Bi-Sexual, Transgender, Queer and Intersex (LGBTQI) as the debate on the closure of LGBTQI resource centre.

The “Me Nko Me Da” singer, yesterday, Wednesday February 24 shared a post on his Facebook page, throwing his support for LGBTQI, calling on Ghanaian not to judge them because we are not God. 

“I support LGBT, you are not God to Judge.” He wrote.

Meanwhile, most individuals, civil society organizations and religious organizations have kicked against the opening of the LGBTQI office in Ghana adding that its presence disregards the cultural values and sanity of the country.

Some Ghanaians too feel Human Right is been threatened.

Also, Ghanaian rapper, Wanlov the Kuborlor who is the acting P.R.O. for the LGBTQI association in Ghana and his sister, Sister Debby, recently waded into the debate on homosexual advocacy and have jumped to the group’s defense.

Though, Ghana, is among many countries in Africa, with strong laws against same-sex relationship relationships.
