Guru’s ‘Me ba abe tia wo’ turns street anthem in Ghana

As if he strategically plan to coin jargon for Ghana annually, arguably best Rapper, Guru, born Nana Yaw Adjei Maradonna has again made a huge impact with his recently released song ‘Me ba abe tia wo’.
The song which is on rotation across all electronic media in Ghana is not only the favourite of both young and old, it is now a street anthem in the country. Since the release of the song, it is rare to have an informal chat with a Ghanaian youth and the phrase ‘Me ba abe tia wo’ would not feature. Hardly does social media users in Ghana update their statuses without using the phrase as well.
According to management of Guru, the Artiste is creative and instinctively knows what phrase or jargon would fit which year and he composes his songs in that direction that is why his popular ‘Boys abr3’ even ended up in parliament where the minority borrowed it to describe the budget at the time.
“That is art, the creativity should make significant impact and people should be able to relate to it. That is why Guru is always topping the chats yearly with his releases” Cedis, Manager of Guru revealed the secret of the Artiste.
According to management of Guru, their yearly street jargon keeps them on their toes to do better than what they did the previous year and that keeps Guru afloat in the music industry.
Whoever is new to the phrase ‘Me ba abe tia wo’ is either not a fan of Ghanaian radio station or hardly visits social media.
