The best Mobile Telecommunications Network in Ghana (MTN), as apart of its corporate social responsibilities to its customers partnered with the Silverbird cinemas to offer the #MtnPulse Users an opportunity to watch the newest blockbuster “AquaMan”.

The event which is dubbed “MTN Movie Mania” was held last night, December 20, at the Silverbird Cinemas at the Accra Mall. MTN customers who made it to the event were treated to an exciting cinema experience.

This initiative by MTN is to provide an opportunity for customers to have a unique experience with the MTN brand and also afford them the opportunity to relax and have fun. And this is its third year in a roll.

As of this moment, Aquaman has officially crossed $300 million at the worldwide box office. With over $200m in China alone, it’s about to pass Ready Player One ($218m earlier this year) as Warner Bros.’ biggest Hollywood export. And presuming it performs well enough in North America, it’ll presumably pass A Star Is Born (which will cross $200m domestic on Friday or Saturday) and Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald ($600m+) to become WB’s biggest domestic and global grosser for the year.

Aquaman is a 2018 American superhero film based on the DC Comics character of the same name, distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures. It is the sixth instalment in the DC Extended Universe(DCEU).

Directed by James Wan, with a screenplay by David Leslie Johnson-McGoldrick and Will Beall, from a story by Geoff Johns, Wan and Beall, it stars Jason Momoa as the title character, with Amber Heard, Willem Dafoe, Patrick Wilson, Dolph Lundgren, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, and Nicole Kidman in supporting roles.

It is the third live-action theatrical film featuring Aquaman, following Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (2016) and Justice League (2017), and the first full-length feature film centred around the character.

In Aquaman, Arthur Curry, the heir to the underwater kingdom of Atlantis, must step forward to lead his people against his half-brother, Orm, who seeks to unite the seven underwater kingdoms against the surface world.
