My Lost Friend” Honoured At GAW Literary Awards 2018

Writer and Poet, Nana Fredua-Agyeman Jnr. has been honoured at the Ghana Association of Writers (GAW) Literary Awards 2018. The literary work titled, “My Lost Friend is a poem he originally penned as a tribute to the memory his late pal.

His work was shortlisted in the Kofi Anyidoho Spoken Word category’The writer picked up one of three awards in a competitive category which had a lot of entries from talented poets and spoken word artistes.

Speaking to famebugs.com the elated writer said, “I wrotethis piece as a befitting tribute to my good friend and did not have any recognition in mind. However, I am so grateful to God for the courage and inspiration to produce such a work of art in my grieving moment. I also thank the Ghana Association of Writers for the humbling honour, the best is yet to come.”  

The Ghana Association of Writers (GAW) Literary Awards was instituted in the 1970s. This year’s event was held on Saturday, the 24th of November, 2018 to honourGhanaian literary geniuses.

The theme, “HonouringLiterary Excellence” was chosen to direct attention to individuals and institutions that continue to exemplify distinction in Ghanaian literature.
