NDC/NPP Guilty Of Nepotism Politics: Oscar Yao Doe

The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Of Doscar Group Of Companies, Mr Oscar Yao Doe has accused both the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the National Democratic Congress (NDC) guilty of engaging in nepotism politics.

He explains that aside the Ex-President Jerry John Rawlings, all other presidents in the 4th Republic have appointed family members to hold positions under their administrations.

“Former Prez Kuffuor appointed his brother, Dr Addo Kuffuor as a minister and the late Prez Mills appointed his twin brother as an advisor, he said.

Mr Yao Doe also thinks it was childish and unwise for President Mahama to appoint his niece as a deputy minister and give Ghana’s bauxite reserve to his brother, Ibrahim Mahama.

He however stated the fact that President Akufo Addo stands tall in this debate of family and friends government.

“He has loaded his immediate family including distant cousins and close friends into an articulator truck and driven them all the way to occupy government positions like a fise of cartoons dropped into the ocean.

Strangely, he has ignored the sacrifices of the First Lady, Rebecca Akufo Addo’s siblings who stood by him and worked harder in his presidential race,” he added.

However, he defended the actions of Prez Akufo Addo as a way of compensating his family members and close friends for standing by him for almost two decades of his political career.

“On the balance of scale, I think he can be forgiven even though it is excessive and would be captured in history books as the president with most appointments. There are many more names in government which should have been on the list but because the NDC were in a rush to collate it for their political benefit they left some out”, he added.

Mr Yao Doe reminded Ghanaians that it is an obligation to educate the youth and upcoming generation on Ghanaian politics with the truth.
