The Founder of the Abiola Bawuah Foundation (ABF), Mrs Marufatu Abiola Bawuah has encouraged all stakeholders and the general public to get copies of her book, ‘Chosen From The Darkness’ as a way of supporting her foundation.

She said the funds realised from the purchase of her book will be channeled into her ‘100 Girls Support Project’ which is aimed at touching the lives of girls in the rural communities.

Speaking at a press briefing, the Mrs Bawuah updated the general public on the progress of the foundation and its achievements.

“We have over 70 girls who are currently benefiting from the earnings from the book and the various donations that have been given us. Some of these girls have being enrolled in schools while those who dropped out have gone back to school”, she said.

She added that despite the fact that the foundation has touched many lives since its commencement in 2018, there are still thousands of girls in Ghana who still need the  support of the ABF  and so the need to encourage organisations for more sponsorship.

The Trustee Chairperson for ABF, Mrs Elizabeth Hayfron Asare, stated that the foundation was mainly to support knowledgeable but deprived girls in the rural communities to further their education.

She said the support, which was in monetary terms were not handed over to beneficiaries themselves but rather the foundation made all payments in person which enabled easy accountability.

“We’re looking at catering for 100 girls a year but the number will surely increase if we are able to get more sponsors on board”, she added.

Mrs Asare explained that supports were not just given and left hanging rather there were follow ups on the performances of these girls in their various schools.

The ABF expressed their profound gratitude to the media for propagating their course and to the sponsors, the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), EnergoProjekt Ghana Limited, Unilever, FanMilk, Mr Tony Elumelu, Rigworld International Services Limited among others.
