Death they say is no respecter of person and once it holds something, life can never take it back from it.

Ghana this year has sadly been hit by the death of a lot of people who are classified as industry players in the entertainment fraternity.

Zionfelix.net has compiled a list of these industry players it picked up from a discussion of Zylofon FM’s ‘Showbiz Agenda’ entertainment review show hosted by Sammy Baah.

Super OD

He was a popular actor who lived for over 80 years and died after a short illness.  The good actor gave Ghanaians some great memories through some of the great movies he stared in. Super OD was part of the popular Osofo Dadzie group.

Ebony

Born Priscilla Opoku Kwarteng, she has been one of the finest talents Ghana has seen in recent years. The talented songstress, Ebony gave the country great songs back to back before she died untimely through an accident in February.

Jewel Ackah

The highlife legend lived for over 70 years and died this year after a battle with stroke and other sicknesses for over 10 years. Jewel Ackah has over 27 albums to his credit. Some of his songs are ‘Asomdowoe Hene,’ ‘Abena,’ ‘I’m in the Mood,’ ‘Joyce Sane Bra,’ and ‘Me Wo Bi.

C. K Mann

Charles Kofi Amankwaa Mann, best known on stage as C. K. Mann, also died this year at age 83. His music career spanned over four decades and he won the Grand Medal of Ghana by former President John Agyekum Kufuor in 2006.

Mann had several hit songs, including ‘Asafo beesuon’, ‘Obaa yaa aye me bone’, ‘Kolomashie’, ‘Dofo bi akyerew me’, ‘Ankwasema dede’.

Mac Jordon Amartey

Legendary actor, Mac Jordan Amartey is also one of the many great actors who died this year. Mac Jordan is known greatly for the popular  “Idikoko” TV series. He was also known for his impeccable English language speaking and numerous TV Theatre production.

Jesse Jones

Nicknamed ‘JJ’, the gospel musician, who started as a secular artiste, died this year. The gospel musician died with close to 20 albums to his credit and one of his popular works is ‘Don’t Let Me Go’.

Bertrand Nana Turkson

The popular entertainment pundit and critic died this year to the shock of many who heard the news. Nana Turkson who was a regular pundit for Joy FM’ s Rhythms A-Z entertainment review show and Zylofon FM’s ‘Showbiz Agenda’ was admired by many listeners for his great intellect and usually satirical jabs.
