SAGE NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL ENTREPRENEURSHIP COMPETITION 2017

SAGE NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL ENTREPRENEURSHIP COMPETITION 2017

Uncategorized Comments Off

It’s another year of business smarts demonstration and Students in Advancement for Global

Entrepreneurship (SAGE) Ghana, seeks to crown the national champions for the 2017 High School

Entrepreneurship Competition. Will SAGE Earlybird Team retain the crown as national champions?

Will SAGE Augusco and Presec reclaim their former position as winners? Or will this year’s edition

experience new Teens on the Block?

Unlike previous years where participation was meant for schools with SAGE Clubs, this year’s edition

is opened to all High Schools who are willing to nurture entrepreneurial smarts in their students.

Winners of this year’s competition will not only walk away with the National Cup and prizes, they

will also represent Ghana at the SAGE World Cup in Odessa-Ukraine, come August 2017.

To participate:

 Students must form a team of 6 (with a teacher as patron)

 Students must submit a one-page executive summary of a business idea (either for profit

making, or social impact) to sageghana@gmail.com by the deadline, 19 th March, 2017.

Following the submissions, the shortlisted schools will be contacted and given a coaching session

ahead of the competition in May. Teams will be taken through the marking scheme/judging criteria,

competition rules and program format & schedule. They will have direct access to the SAGE

operational lead who will assist them in the preparation of their final presentation. The best team, as

per the judging criteria, will be crowned winners.

According to the SAGE Ghana National Coordinator Mr Robert Klah, “entrepreneurship must not be

left to chance. After 60 years of independence, Ghana has no choice but to consciously nurture

entrepreneurial smarts within teenagers. The global competition demands it, business organisations

require it, and the rate of unemployment necessitates it. The hope for a better Ghana begins with

entrepreneurship, and SAGE seeks to lead the way.”

Therefore all high schools, old students associations, youth groups, teachers, parents, youth

development organisations, donors, e.t.c., are encouraged to support the cause of

entrepreneurship, by supporting a school/team to participate in the SAGE national cup.

The SAGE National High School Entrepreneurship Competition is supported by Live FM and High Skul

Cliq, and powered by Entrepreneurs Africa.
