Ghanaian musician, Sonnie Badu, has raised $1,970 off the $50, 000 mark for the relief fund he set up for the victims of the June 3rd flood and fire disaster which saw the death of over 150 residents of Accra, Ghana.

The $1,970 amount has been raised by 39 people in 12 days since the fund was announced by the singer on June 7.

The fund, dubbed Rising Above The Flood-Ghana, was originally targeted to raise $50k in two weeks.

The “reliable” online donation platform, raised $335 22hrs after the singer announced its existence on social media.

It is being managed by Badu’s charity – Sonnie Badu Ministries.
