An official press statement released by management of Ghanaian Dancehall artiste, Stonebwoy yesterday outlined the reasons behind the latter not making it to Jamaica to perform at Sting Jamaica 2015.

Speaking on the issue for the very first time on Pluzz 89.9 FM, the award winning artiste said that he cancelled his performance because some people in the Ghanaian music industry wanted to use that opportunity to hit the limelight adding that certain contract clauses were not favourable to him.

He noted that his Business Manager who doubles as his manager, Karl Kplorla Gidiglo advised him from a business perspective as to getting the sponsorship deal for the ticket to travel to Jamaica for the Sting show and further debunked remorse that his management cannot afford ticket to Jamaica.

“Certain information were not conducive that is why we cancelled the Sting Show, moreover this is the third time am getting an invite from Sting and not first as claimed.

“Some people wanted to take advantage of that to get their hype, do u think we can’t afford a first class ticket to go to Jamaica for the Sting event.

“My manager spoke from a business point of view as to getting the sponsorship deal but it’s not like we are begging for sponsorship to travel.”

According to Stonebwoy, it was unfair on his side to call off Ghana gigs he was billed to perform and sign on outside deal.

Moreover, he revealed that the events he signed on to came earlier than Sting deal which came in behind schedule.

“We are also not naive to perform on big platforms but it was not properly in order to leave shows billed here to perform in Ghana to Jamaica.

“I signed all deals I was billed to perform on earlier before Logic brought up the Sting deal so it came in late and the plan was on point.

“I apologize to everybody that we are not going to Jamaica for the Sting event, and really does not agree with Mr Logic’s comment that this is disrespect and may go against Africans and Ghanaian dancehall artistes to get the chance to perform at Sting.”

The management of Burniton Music Group to announced yesterday to the general public, that Stonebwoy Burniton will not be able to make it to the first ever official African entry to perform at Sting Jamaica 2015 due to circumstances beyond our control.
