‘Tigo Ghana Meets Naija’: Sarkodie, Shatta, Stonebwoy face Nigeria’s Marvin Crew

Ghana’s most fiery three, Shatta Wale, Sarkodie and Stonebwoy are set to come up against Nigeria’s Marvins in this year’s Tigo Ghana Meets Naija concert.

The event which is in its fifth year has now been rebranded as “Tigo Ghana Meets Naija” following a sponsorship deal with telecom giants, Tigo.

The entertainment powerhouse owned by Starr FM CEO, Kwabena Anokye Adisi, more commonly known as Bola Ray, has for the past four years used the competitive platform to promote collaborations between Ghanaian and Nigerian artistes.

The show in the past has seen thrilling performances by artistes such as Brymo, Sarkodie, Tiwa Savage, Castro, Wizkid, Davido, D’banj, 4×4, Shatta Wale, R2bees, and M.I among others.

Both Ghana and Nigeria have had strong representations in the past with the two countries having their fair share of victory moments.

The 5th edition which is slated for Saturday, 23rd May 2015 at the Accra International Conference Centre is under the theme: “Unleashing Unlimited Music”.
Nigeria’s 7-man army, Mavins, will be making their first appearance ever, on a Ghanaian stage, and will be expected to thrill with their numerous hits including “Adaobi and Dorobucci” which is currently a dance staple.


Speaking at the media launch in Accra, the General Manager of Empire Group of Companies, Ms Laillah Crystal Banda stated that “this year will be even more spectacular and is surest to give music fans an experience to truly relish.”

“The fervour with which the Ghana Meets Naija vision was realised in our first edition still shines through as we celebrate five years of bringing you a premium entertainment experience. All patrons will have a story to tell after they indulge in this year’s event, Tigo Ghana Meets Naija 2015.”

The Head of Marketing for Tigo Ghana, Jesse Agyepong, said: “Our association with this event is in line with our commitment to support the music and entertainment industry in Ghana. It is also to create platforms for local musicians to showcase their talent.”

“We will continue to be part of the art industry because we believe that promoting of our artistes is an important part of the growth of the music industry in Ghana,” Agyepong added.
Over the years, Tigo Ghana Meets Naija, has been known as the platform for the biggest artistes in both Ghana and Nigeria to share one stage and thrill music lovers from both countries.

This year’s event is also supported by UniBank, Hennessy, Flight Centre, Oak Plaza Hotel, Africa World Airlines, Best Western Hotel, Enovate and Euro Star limousines.
