Kumawoood, Ghana’s largest movie industry has seen quite a lot of talented people as Kumawood actors and actresses.
Some of Kumawood’s best actors and actresses started acting right before the Ghana Theater came into existence.

Now that the institution is at its peak, releasing more than 50 movies per month, there are actresses who have graced it up to this level and are worth mentioning.

Some have featured in more than 100 movies hence have made their faces so popular while some others are on the list because of their natural acting skills rather than reading and obviously acting out written manuscripts. 10. NANA OSEI KWAME BREMPONG

Nana Osei Kwame Brempong is one of the prolific Actors that has featured in over 70 movies in the past decade. Plainspoken Ghanaian Actor cum Businessman Nana Osei Kwame Obrempong known in showbiz as Sharpiro born 5th October 1980 began his acting career in 2002 with his first movie Asem Asa. The plainspoken actor came into lime light in the year 2005 with the movie Daakyehene.

He is a product of Cambridge, Saint Georges and later continues his secondary education at Armed Forces Senior High. Nana Osei Kwame is the Chief Executive Officer of the Sharp Empire International.

9. SAMUEL OFORI

Samuel Ofori is an actor and director, is one of the versatile players in the kumawood movie industry. He had developed his acting skills over time right from his tender age when he was fond of working behind the camera. To prove his acting prowess he has received multiples awards.

He has his won production house called 2eyes with movies like sex game, tonga , Ebola, chew gum, etc.

8. MICHEAL AFRANE

Michael Afrane, he is a renowned actor in Ghana, he has been in the film industry for the past 16 years. He has featured in countless movies. He is currently a production manager but now aspiring to be a member of parliament for Amansie West as an independent. Earlier on he was an assembly member at the Bosomtwe District. He is indeed one of the top actors who have sustained the film industry. He began his acting career with the likes of Daniel Adeleley, Kwame Owusu Ansah, Asare Bediako and Bernad Adusei Poku.

Joseph Nana Osei Kofi, known on screens as Wayoosi is one of the favorite kumawood actors. The Actor who begun his acting carrier way back 2003 has been starring in over 80 movies in Ghana. He is a product of College of Arts at the Cabin in Kumasi but he learnt painting as a Profession. He started schooling at Kings International School near Kumasi Airport. Rap Heavyweight turned Pastor Evang. Lord Kenya is his Godfather whom he featured in his dancing group Mabosa, the dance made more people see him including Jackson K. Bentum, who realized the potentials in him.

Wayoosi first movie was? Awiee? And acted with the likes of Master Richard, the late Suizy Williams, Judas and Agya Koo.

Kwaku Manu is one of the comic actors in the kumawood industry; he is a product of Tetemofra Production own by ace actor Alexander Kofi Adu , Kwaku Manu came on limelight in the year 2010. He featured is several movies including , Village Champion, All die be Die, Kwaku Bonsam, Asore Panin, Oyaa suro Oyaa, etc Although he hasn’t been long in the industry, the actor cum musician has managed to draw lots of attention to himself using his extremely hilarious acts and very funny comments in movies as baits. He now owns an educational complex.

Bill Asamoah He is the Ashanti Regional Chairman of the Ghana Actors Guild; he has been in the industry for about 17 years now. He has starred in countless movies. Such as Sika, Choice, Azonto Ghost, Poposipopo and I know My Right, The Promise, and many others. He is a married man with one child; he is studying a communication at the university.

Abraham Kofi Davies Asumang popularly known as Rev. Salinko born on 15th September, 1979 happens to be one of the multi talented actors in Ghana. The Actor who begun his acting carrier 9 years ago has been starring in countless movies in Ghana. He has his own production house ABDAVE PRODUCTION producers of Bantama Kwasi Boakye a TV series on GTV and Metro TV. The comic actor through his ‘Salinko Help The Needy’ has been visited organizations to solicit for money to help the needy. Salinko is a married man with two kids’, His wife Nancy Owusu is based outside Ghana. Abraham Kofi Davis is a native of Kwabre – Kenyase a product of Kings International School at the Kumasi Airport Roundabout and completed Secondary School at Kumasi High.

Kwadwo Nkansah popularly known as Lil Win happens to be one of the fastest grown actor in the indigenous movie (Kumawood) the 26 year- old Comic actor Know for movies like Azonto Ghost, Mogya Kronkron, Sika Kasa, Bonsam Bofo, Obaa Nti and Agye Nyame Bamu, Sure Banker, Boyz Abre, he has received multiple awards in the Ghana Movie Awards and the Kumawood and Akoben Movie Awards.
2. AGYA KOO

Kofi Adu (born 25 May 1969), aka Agya Koo, is multiple award-winning actor and comedian from Ghana He has appeared in over 200 Ghanaian movies such as Obaatanpa, Black Star, Ma Trick Wo. Oyaa Suro Oyaa, Odo Tra , Agya Koo Bank Manger, Carpenter ,Mechanic ,Mallam Issah , Emmanuel, Ama Ghana, Sure Banker and many others. Adu originate from the Ashanti Region of Ghana,. He worked as a shoemaker. Adu was discovered on a Ghanaian comedy show on GTV (Ghana National Television) at the National Theater in Accra, where he worked as a comedian warming up the crowd. In July 2008, he was awarded a National Award by then-Ghanaian President John Agyekum Kufuor. Agya Koo currently owns a music band and film production dubbed” Tetemmofra’’. AKwasi Boadu, popularly known as Akrobeto is one of the versatile actors reining in the kumawood screens. Akrobeto born on 18th November 1962 happens to be one of the favorite actors in Ghana. He is a native of Ayirebi a suburb of Akim Oda in the Eastern Region. The Actor who begun his acting career way back 90’s has been starring in countless movies in Ghana. Akrobeto rise to fame was as a result of the foundation given him by the Kristo Asafo drama group which used to perform regularly at the National theater of Ghana on the platform of concert party. He is definitely one of the top actors in the indigenous movies screens.
