Entertainment critic, Emmanuel Barnes, also known as Mr Logic, has said it is unfair for Stonebwoy and Shatta Wale alone to be charged for the fracas that happened at the 20th edition of the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards.

Speaking on Daybreak Hitz on Hitz FM, he explained that the security personnel and organisers failed patrons when it comes to security and should also be questioned.

Mr Logic added, flaws in the security system have been overlooked because of the complete shift of attention from the security failure to Stonebwoy and Shatta Wale.

“I heard George say that they had about 80 to 100 police there, how come Shatta and his crew were going up the stage [and] they could not stop them? It took Black Cedi to stop them when the police stepped back,” he added.

A brawl erupted between Stonebwoy and Shatta Wale camps at the 20th anniversary of the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards, Sunday.

Pandemonium broke out shortly after Stonebwoy was announced the winner of ‘Reggae/Dancehall Artiste of the Year when Shatta Wale and his team were seen going towards the stage, their intentions unclear.

Just as he approached the stage, blows started flying between Stonebwoy’s entourage and Shatta Wale’s team.

Police and security personnel could be seen rushing to stage to prevent the brawl from escalating.

Stonebwoy pulled out a gun on stage in the midst of the scuffle as some of his team members try to shield the gun.

The fight disrupted the Awards for almost 30 minutes. Some guests, including actress Jackie Appiah, rushed out of the venue.

Mr Logic faulted Stonebwoy for drawing out a weapon on the stage but added, the musician cannot be blamed for feeling to protect himself.

“I think it is disrespectful to have drawn the gun in front of all the personalities,” he told Andy Dosty Host of the show.

He stated regardless of how Shatta moved aggressively towards the stage, he was going to congratulate Stonebwoy explaining, Shatta cannot hurt a fly, “maybe people will hurt people in his name.”

Mr Logic added, he does not blame Stonebwoy and his team for feeling threatened hence it was up to the security to put things under control.

According to him, the call for prosecution of the artistes is harsh since “the police can let them sign a bond. But the call for prosecution is harsh.”

He added the police were paid to ensure maximum security and they failed.

“If there is a call for prosecution, the organisers and the police at post that day should also be made to face some charges,” Mr Logic said.
