Ghana surged into the final of the Africa Cup of Nations 2015 after a well deserved victory over hosts Equatorial Guinea on Thursday evening.

The Black Stars scored three unanswered goals to make it to the final and will face off with Ivory Coast on Sunday.

Jordan Ayew scored from the spot before Mubarak Wakaso doubled the lead in the first half then Andre Ayew stretched the lead after the recess.

The game was marred by violence and ugly scenes from the 83rd minutes as Equatoguinean fans pelted their Ghanaian counterparts with missiles from the stands.

The irate supporters gave riot control police hectic time to bring the situation under control.

The semi-final game had to be suspended for close to 30 minutes as the Ghanaian fans rushed to the pitch to seek refuge. A helicopter hovered over the stadium forcing some of the fans to rush out for safety.

After series of meetings on the pitch and the crowd had been controlled with majority of them leaving the stands, the referee restarted the game.

The score line remained the same at the end of the final whistle. Ghana will now face Ivory Coast in the final on Sunday.
