There has been several cases whereby upcoming actors/actress and even our top stars have stated how difficult it is to make it in the Ghanaian movie industry.There has not been exceptions with anyone.The likes of Jackie Appiah, Majid Michel, John Dumelo and more all faced difficulties during the early stages of their movie careers. We have seen their throwback pictures and its clear to see their passion for acting did not start a few years ago,they had been striving for breakthrough in the industry. We have witnessed how they all had to go settle in Nigeria for a few years just to make their mark and get their names across the continent.

Kobby Acheampong, one of the fast-rising actors who is currently in Nigeria for a movie shoot was contacted by Ghkwaku.com to open up about his experiences in Nigeria in the few weeks he’s been there.

I must admit, when i touched down in Lagos,Nigeria i had in mind i was going to shoot just one movie for the popular producer Uchenna Mbonabo, but after i got here, everything changed.I have been in Nigeria before on several occasions for movie shoots but i was always rushing back to Ghana because i felt i was missing several opportunities as well.

I used to rush back to Ghana every time just to find myself home with no scripts being directed to my path. The scripts come in ones in a long time and those movies actually sometimes never get released- he said

He also added that, the Nigerian industry is bigger compared to Ghana and as a result of their population, he was wondering if he could make a breakthrugh there but it turns it its highly possible and is ready to push as hard as he can.

Obviously there is no place like home but i also feel so much as home here considering the treatment i’m receiving.Its a great place to be as an actor, i have shot two movies already and there are more scripts on my desk to shoot.Hopefully, i go to Ghana Soon but i will surely come back as fast as i can unless i’m bombarded with scripts here and there, he laughed.
