The date is 2 May 2015, at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada.

This is a fight that has been on the horizon for years now, with several issues holding it up. But Mayweather finally announced the resolution of all outstanding issues yesterday on social media. The fight is billed to be the richest in boxing history, with both fighters scheduled to net over $100m from the single night’s effort.

Mayweather, of course, is unbeaten in his career, and is generally considered the best pound for pound fighter on the planet right now. There’s always been the belief that Pacquaio is the only fighter who could stop him, and now the chance has been granted to the Filipino menace to stop Money Mayweather.

TMZ reported that minutes after the fight was announced, the MGM Grand Hotel has been sold out, every room booked for the night of May 2- if that does not tell you how eagerly anticipated this fight is, nothing else will.
